Contentment!

Dictionary.com defines that as being "mentally or emotionally satisfied with the way things are."  If I were a tattoo person that is what I would need tattooed somewhere, CONTENTMENT.

I am constantly wondering if I should have chosen a different career, went to a different school, etc...  the list is so long.  One of my hobbies is looking on real-estate websites and day dreaming about living in a bigger better house in a nicer neighborhood with a 2 car garage, fenced in backyard with a swingset for Will, and a dedicated music room for Chris.  I am so captivated by what "could be" that I often overlook (and neglect) what is.

We live in a perfectly respectible neighborhood in a townhouse that, with a little work, could be great.  We are walking distance to several parks, in a great school district, and have fantastic neighbors.  I don't know that we'll live here forever, but I have decided while we do I am going to make our space fit our needs and personality.  I'm going to stop dwelling on the fact that my living room/dining room combo is smaller then most people's living rooms and that my kitchen and bathrooms are older then I am, and start fixing the place up to suit us.  We can't change the layout since it is a townhouse, but we can make it into a home that makes us happy to live here, and since it is me doing it, it will be as frugal as possible.  I'll post pictures as I make changes upgrades to our home so you all can see the work in progress too.  Oooh, I'm excited now.  I need to go take some before pictures.

  1. Ok! I have to comment (btw- I'm one of Clyde's... scratch that... Clyde's FAVORITE co-worker).

I have made a lot of upgrades to my RENTAL duplex while never breaking stride with my debt snowball. It is truly amazing what you can do with very little money.

A can of paint is cheap, and can totally change a room.

I wish you all the best with your upcoming DIY projects!!!

    You can do it!
